Portable Appliance Testing
|
Portable appliance testing or 'PAT testing' is essential to ensure an electrical appliance is safe for use. Employers are responsible for the safety or their staff and regular portable appliance testing will help you comply with the Electricity At Work Regulations 1989.
The test itself comprises two parts, the first is a visual inspection to ensure the appliance, lead and plug are in good condition and have no signs of damage. the second part is checking the appliance with our test equipment, this will check the insulation resistance, polarity and earth continuity. Safe items will be given a pass label whilst failed items will be removed from situ and reported to responsible person. Hartwell safety services can test your appliances using modern test equipment and provide an inventory of pass and failed items. |
